Common noise faults in hydraulic components of air compressors
1. Piston pump or motor noise
(1) The phenomenon of suction is one of the main reasons for the excessive noise of hydraulic pumps. When the oil is mixed with air, cavitation is easy to form in its high-pressure area and spread in the form of pressure waves, causing the oil to oscillate and causing the system to produce cavitation noise. The main reasons are:
① The oil filter, the oil inlet pipe of the hydraulic pump is blocked or the oil viscosity is too high, which can cause the vacuum at the oil inlet of the pump to be too high, and allow air to infiltrate.
②The oil seal at the shaft end of the hydraulic pump and the pilot pump is damaged, or the oil inlet pipe is not well sealed, causing air to enter.
②The oil level of the oil tank is too low, so that the oil inlet pipe of the hydraulic pump is directly emptied.
When high noise occurs during the operation of the hydraulic pump, the above-mentioned parts should be checked first, and the problems should be dealt with in time.
(2) Excessive wear and tear of the internal components of the hydraulic pump, such as the wear and tear of the piston pump cylinder body and the valve plate, the plunger and the plunger hole, etc., make the internal leakage of the hydraulic pump serious. The flow of oil will produce flow pulsation and cause higher noise. At this time, the deflection angle of the variable mechanism of the pilot system can be appropriately increased to improve the influence of internal leakage on the output flow of the pump. The servo valve spool of the hydraulic pump and the piston that controls the flow will also be locally worn and strained, causing the piston to pulsate during the movement, causing the output flow and pressure of the hydraulic pump to fluctuate, resulting in greater vibration and noise at the pump outlet . At this time, the components with severe wear and strain can be brushed, plated, researched, or replaced.
(3) The valve plate of the hydraulic pump is also one of the important components that easily cause noise. When the valve plate is in use, due to surface wear or sludge deposits on the opening of the unloading groove, the unloading groove will be shortened and the unloading position will be changed, resulting in oil trapping, which in turn leads to higher noise. In the normal repair process, the valve plate repaired by flat grinding will also have the consequence of shortening the unloading groove. At this time, if it is not properly lengthened in time, it will also produce a lot of noise. During the assembly process, the large unloading groove of the valve plate must be installed in the high-pressure chamber of the pump, and its sharp angle must be opposite to the rotation direction of the cylinder, otherwise it will also bring a lot of noise to the system.
2. The noise of the overflow valve
The relief valve is prone to high-frequency noise, which is mainly caused by the unstable performance of the pilot valve, which is the noise generated by the air vibration caused by the high-frequency oscillation of the pressure in the front cavity of the pilot valve. The main reasons are:
(1) Air is mixed into the oil, cavitation is formed in the front cavity of the pilot valve, which causes high-frequency noise. At this time, the air should be exhausted in time and the outside air should be prevented from re-entering.
(2) The needle valve is excessively worn due to frequent opening during use, which prevents the needle valve cone surface and the valve seat from being tightly closed, resulting in unstable pilot flow, generating pressure fluctuations and causing noise. At this time, it should be repaired or replaced in time.
(3) The pressure regulating function of the pilot valve is unstable due to the fatigue deformation of the spring, which causes large pressure fluctuations and causes noise. At this time, the spring should be replaced.
3. Noise of hydraulic cylinder
(1) If the oil is mixed with air or the air in the hydraulic cylinder is not completely exhausted, cavitation will occur under the action of high pressure and cause loud noise. At this time, the air must be exhausted in time.
(2) If the oil seal of the cylinder head is too tight or the piston rod is bent, noise will also be generated due to other forces during the movement. At this time, it is necessary to replace the oil seal or straighten the piston rod in time.
4. Pipeline noise
Too many dead bends or loose fixing clips can also cause vibration and noise. Therefore, avoid dead bends as much as possible in the pipeline layout, and tighten the loose clamps in time.
